BIG update this week and BIG plan change for 2023

I met up with Cal (my coach) this weekend for an in person check in and we decided to make some plan changes for 2023. We have decided that I will be competing at the end of the year. Plans have now been set for my actual pro-debut in October (I dont class the Finland Pro Show as my first pro-debut as it was very unexpected haha, so this feels like the REAL DEAL). The plan is as follows:

- IFBB PRO LEAGUE FIT PARADE HUNGARY PRO (Budapest) – 15th October
- IFBB PRO LEAGUE WINGS OF STRENGTH ROMANIA MUSCLE FEST PRO (Bucharest) – 11th November
and possibly
- IFBB PRO LEAGUE EVLS PRAGUE PRO – 18th November

It still doesn’t seem real to me that I will be stepping on a pro-stage – I have barely come to terms with turning pro yet! But Im so excited. We came to the conclusion to compete for several reasons. Firstly, taking too much time away from the ‘prep’ lifestyle can take you too far away from bodybuilding – for me, I dont need THAT much more tissue, so he wants to keep me in the loop with prep. Secondly, I really need to step on a big pro stage and see where I stand against the pros – do I still need to make improvements? Am I close to where I need to be? By competing this year it gives me chance to see where I stand in the pro ranks and if necessary make the required improvements ready to attack the 2024 season (with the goal of getting that qualification for the O). The prague show is a maybe – if I’m close to where I need to be this year, we will go for it. If I’m not, itll be back to the drawing board to make improvements.

It all seems very surreal, but I genuinely cant wait.

Currently, Im in a short recomp/maintenence phase for the next few weeks. Just holding bodyweight around where it is currently before the last push up before prep starts in June (I cant believe I’m saying that!).

Will keep everyone updated with plans moving forward!

So its just been deload week and my god I have needed it!

I used to struggle taking time off from training – used to feel guilty, unable to relax. As I go deeper into my bodybuilding career I have realised that I can only progress as much as I can recover – which means regular deloads – both for the body and the mind.

Myself and ali went for a nice 3 day break to Paris which was fab. Im ‘on it’ 95% of the year – training, nutrition, all other variables absolutely nailed. However, mentally for me, I like to take a mental complete break from everything from time to time and just be a ‘normal’ human. This works SO well for me from a mental and psychological standpoint to help me rest, reset and get ready to rock again.

We took 3 days off training, off my meal plan and it was so refreshing. I didnt go wild with food, just ate when I was hungry. But Im a sucker for routine so Im actually so glad to be back in my usual busy routine now I’m back home.
