Competitive season recap -OVERALL WIN, PRO CARD WIN AND PRO PLACING!

So here we are, just over one week post competitive season – and its been a good one!
Overall win, Pro card, 4th Place Pro show. MADNESS!
Very very happy and more than ready to be entering a growth phase.
I had been in prep in total for 23 weeks AND its been such an epic life changing whirlwind!

This was my first competitive season in the IFBB and my first time competing as a figure athlete. I had competed in PCA toned figure back in 2019, so did have some ‘prep’ experience, but it guess this was the first prep I did ‘properly’ so to speak – with real goals, real understanding and being fully immersed in bodybuilding.

MK classic 16th July (regional qualifier) – Overall Win
This was in my home town of wigan – which was EPIC. As ALL my family came to watch, loads of my friends. It was absolutely incredible to step back out on stage after 3 years away with literally so many of my friends and family there to support me. It couldn’t have gone any better. Because this was the week before the pro qualifier, cal brought me in around 80-90%, keeping some tools in the box for Finland. But we still took the overall win, which was unreal. Mentally for me, this was a huge moment. I had very little self belief before this point as I hadn’t stood on stage in this category before, I needed to see for myself how I compared to the rest.

Finland Pro qualifier and Finland Olympia Qualifier Pro Show 30th July – Pro card and 4th Place Pro Show
About 10 weeks out, we had a bit of a change of plan. I mentioned to cal that I wanted to international competing experience – more with the intention of – if I didn’t take the pro card at British finals, can we make a plan for shows following finals. Then we decided to jump in this show which was in between the two and I jumped at the opportunity. I have to say though, my first taste of International competing wasn’t the smoothest! My boyfriend and coaches flight was cancelled 4 hours before departure (NIGHTMARE!). Luckily, mine wasn’t. So I flew out to Finland ALONE and the rest of the team scrambled to find flights – which took them via malaga and arrived 2 days later. Get yourself a support network who will literally fly around the world to support you on stage!! So its a bloody good job I got my pro card and pro placing with the team going to all this effort.

The goal this competitive season with to obtain my pro card. Although this was a goal cal set for me last year, was it something I thought imminently possible? – hell no! I guess sometimes its hard to view yourself in comparison to others in your category, especially when you haven’t lined up on stage with them. I have learned it is important to trust the view of those around you who have more knowledge than you do, especially your coach. My achievements over the past few weeks still don’t feel real. I had visualised the moment of winning my pro card thousands and thousands of times – before every heavy set, before every cardio session. For this to come to fruition is at times totally overwhelming – especially since I’ve only been training since 2019. Its slowly sinking in!

Straight after winning my pro card I had qualified for the pro show (which was literally 10 minutes after the amateur). Well you can imagine, its such an elation of emotions coming off stage achieving your dream then literally signing my contract and going straight back on for the pro show within minutes. It was absolutely crazy. To be honest, going back on stage for the pro show was insane. Because the pressure was off then, I felt like I could fully absorb and enjoy that epic moment and take it all in – take in all the things that I hadn’t during the amateur show where to be honest, I was filled with adrenaline focusing on that goal. It was, for me, probably the best way to do my pro debut!! AND even more madness I placed 4th. I was centre stage second call outs. I felt like I belonged up there with the pros, I didnt look out of place – this did so much for my self belief – something I previously didn’t have much of.

The fire is lit now.
I know what I need to be competitive as a pro. And Im so ready for it!
Im SO READY to grow, enjoy training again and fully immerse myself in off season – and give some time back to my boyfriend, dogs, friends, family – those who I have unfortunately neglected and who have fully supported me during this intensely busy period! I also have plans to launch my online business this week which is super exciting!
