Another ‘kinda in prep kinda not yet in prep’ maintenance week in the bag.

About 2kg off since we dropped from peak off season kcals and I’m feeling SO much better in myself. After pushing food and weight pretty high, you can feel sluggish, unhealthy. I’m just glad the back pumps are now reducing significantly.

Couple more weeks in this maintenance block before we fully drop the hammer and dive properly into this deficit, and I’m getting super excited.

The nerves are something I’m trying to keep at bay this prep – a huge learning curve I found in my last prep is I need to be more present. Enjoy and be grateful for the journey – the pressure you’re under in any prep is a privilege. And something you must be grateful for.

It is a privilege to prep. It’s a privilege to be competing at this level, and something I will be more grateful for, and enjoy each and every moment.

Food is still very high, cardio isn’t in yet, steps remain low. I’m embracing the calm before the storm!

Life update from myself!

I spent this weekend visiting cal my coach for an in person check in. And I can officially say prep has begun! I’m both nervous and excited – I feel I have made good improvements during this off season and I can’t wait to see what’s underneath.

Cal discussed the plan for my prep with me for this time round – the plan is to bring me in ready for about 4 weeks prior to show number 1, then gradually increase food and taper down output to drop fatigue leading into show number one.

Excited/nervous/mix of emotions right now! The pressure is off, I am a small fish in a big sea now – I need to spend this season working out how I fair against the best of the best.

I’m also starting a new job in a weeks time – my last job I was CRAZY busy due to lack of staff, so I’ve taken the leap and I start my new job next Monday. A lot of change all at once, but I’m excited for it.
