Discover the Full Boar Sports Team: Ross Byrne
Ross Byrne is a physique athlete coach and educator, with qualifications in the Poliquin strength training programme, as well as others that give him unique insight into muscle mechanics. On top of these qualifications, he regularly attends seminars and camps to further expand his knowledge.
Safe to say, when it comes to fitness and bodybuilding, Ross knows his stuff. Ross has worked with some of Europe’s most respected coaches and had the blessing of learning from some of the industry’s best during his extensive experience. That’s why we at Full Boar Sports spoke with Ross about his workout split, supplements, and upcoming shows. Let’s look at some of Ross’ favourite supplements.
Ross’ training split
Ross’s training split has naturally changed over the years, with him competing in high-level marshal arts during his teens, before moving into the bodybuilding world. Currently he’s on a 5-day split, set up as follows:
Day 1: Push A
Day 2: Leg/Pull (Density)
Day 3: Rest
Day 4: Push B
Day 5: Legs
Day 6: Pull
Day 7: Rest
What supplements does Ross use?
Ross takes a variety of different supplements; split into 4 key categories that we’ll discuss in a little more detail below.
Oxidative Stress and Organ Support
Strom sports support max contains a variety of ingredients and has been designed to support proper functioning of the body for gym goers. This is particularly true if you’re working as hard as someone like Harley.
Supplement Needs Liver Stack boasts an incredible combination of ingredients, with a focus on promoting liver health. A healthy liver is crucial for providing your body with energy, regulating hormones and much more. It’s no surprise it’s earned a place on Ross’ supplement list.
Vitamin C plays several important functions in the body, amongst them, helping to protect cells and keep them healthy. Here at Full Boar Sports, we recommend the Supplement Needs Vitamin C, which contains 100% ascorbic acid.
Often abbreviated as NAC, N-Acetyl Cystine is naturally produced by the body and plays an important role in replenishing one of the most powerful antioxidants. NAC is often stacked with another product known as TUDCA, with both offering health benefits to the liver, such as in the Supplement Needs TUDCA + NAC.
Strom Sports Glutathione Max has been uniquely designed to stack well alongside their support max product. It is a blend of two patented glutathione compounds, which have antioxidant properties and can be beneficial to those working out. It also contains Choline Bitartrate, which is useful in rebuilding cells and can be transformed into a neurotransmitter related to muscle control.
Lipid, Tissue and Neural Health
Vitamin D is essential for a variety of bodily functions and is one of the most common vitamin deficiencies. That’s because it’s difficult in the modern world to get enough sunlight, and that’s why Harley has a vitamin D3 supplement to ensure he’s getting the right amount for his body to function properly. At Full Boar Sports we’d recommend another Supplement Needs product, their vitamin D, which comes in the natural form your body creates from sunlight.
Omega-3 fatty acids are incredibly important, with many benefits to both the body and mind. Omega-3 has been shown to benefit brain health, improving sleep, improve bone and joint health, as well as being good for the skin. EPA and DHA are two different chains of omega-3 fatty acids, with both having different benefits, hence why Ross makes sure he has both.
Performance and Pre-Workout
Supplement Needs Pre-Pump was created with a focus on improving blood and nutrient flow to muscles, which can have benefits for performance and endurance during exercise. Makes sense why Ross includes this in his performance and pre-workout supplements.
Conteh Sports Conviction is a high quality pre workout formula, with ingredients that benefit blood vessel dilation, decreasing muscle fatigue, increasing exercise capacity and performance, and more!
Conteh Essential Gains
Conteh Sports Essential Gains EAA is a blend of nine essential amino acids, designed to help with recovery, muscle growth and hydration. In addition to the essential amino acids, it contains CocoMineral for added hydration. Conteh also added the ingredient ActiGin to help promote muscle recovery, energy, and the regeneration of new muscle cells!
Creamax is a unique and high-quality creatine formula designed by Strom Sports, that delivers a clinically calculated dose of pure creatine monohydrate. It stacks well with the hydramax formula.
Another Conteh Sports product, the carbdrive is a unique carbohydrate formula, designed with Cluster Dextrin as its source due to its high molecular mass and easy digestion. This is ideal for during workouts, and through the inclusion of Glycersize, CocoMineral and Actigin, it really makes this product one of a kind.
Strom Sports Velosiwhey and Per4m Whey are both whey isolate protein formulas. Protein formulas can be extremely useful if you’re training hard in the gym, as they can help you to reach your daily protein targets in a quick and easy way.
Sleep and ANS Management
Supplement Needs Sleep Stack aids in healthy sleep, which is incredibly important if you’re training hard, with some studies suggesting under-sleeping can result in a 40% drop in cardiovascular performance.
Strom Sports Support Max Neuro PM
Strom Sports Support Max is a nootropic blend, containing ingredients like lions main which some studies have shown have benefits to memory and brain function. In addition, it contains ingredients like magnesium which has an important role in healthy sleep.
Whilst magnesium can be found in both the Supplement Needs Sleep Stack and Strom Sports Support Max Neuro PM, magnesium is an electrolyte and can be depleted during hard exercise. That’s why an additional magnesium supplement can be helpful; Supplement Needs Magnesium Glycinate is Ross’ recommendation, with it being provided in a more bioavailable source which is easier for the body to absorb.
There we go, the supplements recommended by Ross Byrne. If you’d like to get in touch with Ross for training, he works exclusively with physique athletes. However, he also offers mentoring and consultations to both coaches and athletes looking to improve their knowledge, manage health issues or plan out their year, regarding supplementation, AAS stack design and programming.
